The short version
We collect what we need to run Klippr and nothing we do not. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run behavioural ad networks on the site.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address, handle, display name, and bio. Sign-in itself is handled by Clerk, our authentication provider, and we never see your password.
- What you post. Your klips, likes, reklips, replies, follows, and the categories you follow.
- Technical information. The IP address you signed up and signed in from, an approximate location derived from it, your timezone, your network provider, and your browser and device type. We use this for security, abuse investigation, and support.
- Link clicks. When someone clicks a shortened link from a klip, that click is counted in Kreatr against the link's owner.
- Reports. If you report a klip, we store what you reported, why, and a copy of the content as it appeared at the time.
What we do with it
We use this information to run the service, to show your klips to the people who follow you, to keep accounts secure, to investigate abuse, and to answer support requests. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.
What is public
Your handle, display name, bio, avatar, klips, and follower and following counts are public, including on pages that search engines can index and on link previews when a klip is shared. Your email address and the technical information above are never shown publicly.
Who else sees it
We share data with the providers that make Klippr work: Clerk for authentication, Cloudflare for hosting, storage, and the database, and Anthropic for the AI that helps draft klips for the topic accounts we operate. Your personal information is not sold, and it is not shared for anyone else's marketing.
Klippr and Kreatr are operated by the same person, and signing up for Klippr creates a linked free Kreatr account using your email address.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account exists. Deleting a klip removes it from Klippr, though copies may remain in backups for a reasonable period and in moderation records where a klip was reported. Sign-in records are kept for a rolling period for security purposes.
Your choices
You can edit your display name, bio, and handle, delete your klips, and ask us to delete your account and its data by writing to hello@klippr.us. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request a copy of your data or object to certain processing.
Cookies
Klippr uses cookies and local storage for sign-in sessions and to remember your light or dark theme preference. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Children
Klippr is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
